The Secretary General meets with the Executive Director of UNODC

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad met with the Director General of the United Nations Office in Vienna and Executive Director of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Ms. Ghada WALY.

The two parties stressed the impact of issues related to the fight against terrorism, arms and drug trafficking and human trafficking in Africa, particularly in the Sahel region, on stability and security.

This meeting provided an opportunity for the Secretary General of the Ministry to highlight the efforts undertaken by the public authorities in the fight against corruption and the recovery of assets transferred illegally abroad, in accordance with the commitments made by the President of the Republic.

The UNODC official expressed the full availability of the Office she leads to support Algeria, especially in its efforts to fight against corruption and drug trafficking, by supporting the implementation of the national strategy in these areas.
