Mrs.Mansouri participates in the Ministerial Meeting of the Peace and Security Council of the African Union

The Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, for African Affairs, Selma Bakhta Mansouri, participated Thursday by videoconference, in the works of the ministerial meeting of the African Union Peace and Security Council (PSC), which focused on examining developments in Somalia and monitoring the operations of the AU Support Mission in this country.

This meeting, held within the framework of its 1287th session, was marked by the participation of foreign ministers from several member states of the Council, in addition to the president of the AU Commission, the AU commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security, the Somali foreign minister, the representative of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), of the UN and the European Union (EU).

In her address, the Secretary of State reaffirmed Algeria's constant commitment to peace and stability efforts in Somalia as well as its willingness to continue accompanying this brotherly country in its efforts to fight terrorism and consolidate stability, in coordination with regional and international partners, capable of contributing to the establishment of lasting peace and security in Somalia and throughout the Horn of Africa region.
