Mr Attaf holds bilateral talks with his Spanish counterpart

The minister of State, minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, held talks Friday, in Johannesburg, with the Spanish minister of Foreign Affairs, the European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares Bueno, on the sidelines of the second day of the G20 ministerial meeting.

The Spanish minister thanked the Algerian authorities for their effective contribution to the liberation of the Spanish national, Navaro Canada Joaquim, last January, emphasizing his country's support to Algeria's role in the strengthening of stability and the promotion of development in the Sahel-Saharan region.

The two sides considered the ways and means to give a fresh impetus to relations between the two countries, by enhancing mutual trust and promoting bilateral cooperation.

They discussed the latest developments of the Palestinian cause, insisting on the need to continue international efforts for a fair and definitive settlement of the Middle East conflict, through the two-state solution.
