Mr. Belani receives the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait in Algeria

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Mr. Amar Belani received Thursday the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait in Algeria, Mr. Mohamed Marzouk Salimane Motlaq Ech-Choubou. 

During this meeting, the two parties have highlighted the privileged fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries, relations that have always been marked by a joint cooperation and mutual respect.

They also welcomed the positive momentum of bilateral relations through the visit of the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune in Kuwait on 22 and 23 February 2022, especially in terms of consolidating coordination and political consultation between the two countries and promoting Algerian-Kuwaiti cooperation in the fields of economy, trade and investment.

In this regard, Mr. Belani and the Kuwaiti diplomat stressed the importance of intensifying efforts to ensure the full implementation of the results of this visit, including the immediate activation of bilateral cooperation mechanisms decided by the two parties on this occasion and at the forefront of which the joint committee on political, security and economic issues.

The two parties agreed, in the same framework, to hold a session of political consultations at the level of Secretaries General of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of both countries.

In terms of bilateral cooperation, the two sides stressed the need to work together to define ways and frameworks to explore and take advantage of all the promising opportunities of the Algerian market, especially in light of legislative guarantees, fiscal and administrative facilities provided by the new law on investment.

In this context, the Kuwaiti ambassador stressed the deep commitment to the implementation of the instructions given by Crown Prince Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to the Kuwaiti Sovereign Wealth Fund (KIA) at the end of the visit of Mr. President of the Republic to the State of Kuwait, a brotherly country, to contribute to the realization of large-scale projects in Algeria.

In addition, the discussions between the two parties have allowed to exchange views on regional and international issues of common interest.

The two sides welcomed, in this regard, the convergence of views between the two countries on a number of fundamental Arab issues, including the Palestinian question, the situation in Libya and Yemen, and the issue of the return of Syria to the Arab League.

Regarding the Palestinian issue, Mr. Secretary General condemned the serious Zionist violations against Al-Aqsa Mosque and all Islamic and Christian holy places in the city of El-Quds.

Stressing the importance of unifying the Palestinian ranks to confront the occupation and defeat its plans to stoke discord and stir up divisions among Palestinians to serve its colonial and racist project in the occupied Palestinian territories, Mr. Belani reiterated the importance of the Palestinian people's participation in the struggle against the occupation. Mr. Belani reiterated Algeria's commitment to continue its efforts to reunite Palestinian forces and factions, and to allow Palestine to obtain full membership in the UN, in accordance with the resolutions of the Arab Summit held in Algiers on 1 and 2 November 2022.

Speaking about the return of Syria to the Arab League, the two sides welcomed the positive momentum that has experienced the relations between Syria and its brotherly Arab countries, a momentum that will soon be sanctioned by the return of Syria to its seat in the Arab League.

The Kuwaiti diplomat praised, in this context, the wisdom of Algerian diplomacy and its wise vision on this issue, saying that time had proved the accuracy of the Algerian approach calling for a return of Syria to the Arab League, thus promoting the settlement of the political crisis in this country and preventing the risk of secession.

The talks between the two sides have also focused on positive developments in the region, including the resolution of relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran, and the expected results in consolidating regional security and mitigating the sources of crisis and conflict in several countries in the region.
