Communiqué of the Presidency of the Republic: Algeria calls on the Sudanese parties to cease hostilities

Algeria, in its capacity as the current President of the Council of the League of Arab States at the Summit level, is following with great concern the developments of the situation in the Republic of Sudan, a brotherly country, following the serious confrontations with heavy weapons that took place in the capital, Khartoum, between the army forces and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), with consequent human and material losses.

Considering the relations of brotherhood and the historical ties that unite the two brotherly countries and peoples, Algeria calls on all Sudanese parties to cease hostilities and to prevail dialogue in order to overcome the differences, as complicated as they are.

Algeria also calls on all brothers to put the supreme interest of the country first, at a time when the Republic of Sudan needs more than ever the combined efforts of its peoples to put an end to the current crisis and to achieve the legitimate aspirations of the brotherly Sudanese people to regain their security and stability and to build a democratic and modern state.
