Communiqué of the Ministry - MALI

An alleged website of the Alliance of Sahel States has relayed unfounded allegations falsely attributing to Algeria an initiative on Mali at the Summit of Non-Aligned Countries in Kampala.

According to this site, Algeria introduced provisions relating to the Peace and Reconciliation Agreement in Mali, which was the outcome of the Algiers process, into the Summit's final document.

The Algerian delegation formally denies having taken such an initiative. All the words in the Kampala final document relating to the Malian crisis have been adopted since the Baku ministerial meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement.

These words belong to the Non-Aligned Movement and Algeria did not intervene at any time in its formulation.
