Mr Chaib participates in the ‘African Diaspora Day’ event

The Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, in charge of the National Community abroad, Sofiane Chaib, highlighted Saturday, in Algiers, the strategic dimension of involving members of the national community established abroad in Algeria’s different development processes.

In an address during a ceremony organized in the honor of members of the national community abroad, participating in the activities of “African Diaspora Day, on the sidelines of the 4th Intra-African Commercial Fair (IATF 2025), Chaib hailed the “precious participation of the latter, reaffirming “Algeria's will to associate its nationals living abroad with the various development processes of their country of origin.

 During this ceremony, chaired by the acting Prime Minister, Sifi Ghrieb, the Secretary of State emphasized the strategic importance of this issue, noting that the status of overseas national community members has been strengthened by the 2020 Constitution and reinforced by numerous decisions made on their behalf by President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, in recent years across various sectors.

In this regard, considered the organization of “African Diasporas Day as “an important and marking step in the process engaged by the Government to implement the high instructions and enlightened orientations of the President of the Republic, aiming to strengthen the role and place of our community abroad, as an integral part of the nation.

He also noted that he makes sure to convey this message to the members of the national community abroad, both during his visits to their host countries and in meetings with diaspora representatives in Algeria, as part of “ongoing engagement with the increasing enthusiasm shown by many talented members of our diaspora to strengthen their ties with the homeland, particularly by contributing their expertise and knowledge to the country's socioeconomic development.
