Mr Attaf meets with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Security Policy

The Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, met on Wednesday in Brussels with the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, on the sidelines of his participation in the 3rd meeting of AU-EU Foreign Ministers.

The talks provided an opportunity to review the various aspects of cooperation and coordination between Algeria and the European Union (EU), with a view to reactivating the institutional mechanisms governing the Algerian-European partnership.

The two parties also discussed the revision of the association agreement between Algeria and the EU to bring the expected balance to this partnership, especially in its economic dimension.

On this occasion, the two parties exchanged views and analyses on a number of current issues, primarily the developments in the situation in the brotherly country of Libya, in particular, and tensions in the Sahel region, in general.
