Statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Palestine 18.03.2025

Algeria condemns in the strongest terms the resumption, by the Israeli occupation, of its despicable aggression against the brotherly Palestinian people in the strip of Gaza, in blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement signed last January and with complete disregard for international charters and norms.

At a time when the international community harbored the hope of consolidating the ceasefire in Gaza, alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people and launching the efforts for rebuilding this Palestinian territory,  the resumption of the aggression comes to shatter all these hopes and plunge the regions back into a cycle of bloodshed, famine and deprivation of the most basic needs for survival.

In the face of these serious developments, Algeria has called on the Security Council to assume the responsibilities incumbent upon it under the provisions of the United Nations Charter in order to ensure respect, by the occupying power, of the ceasefire agreement in its entirety and at all its stages.

Algeria has, moreover, reiterated its absolute solidarity with the Palestinian people as well as its unwavering support until the achievement of its national project and the establishment of its independent and sovereign State with Al-Quds as its capital.
