Communiqué of the Ministry - Niger

Algeria strongly condemns the terrorist attack carried out on Friday 10 February 2023 against a detachment of the Nigerien Army, on patrol in the locality of Intagamey, in the northern zone of the department of Banibangou, in the south-east of Niger, on the border with Mali, leaving several soldiers dead and injured, and some reported missing.

Algeria extends its sincere condolences to the Government and the brotherly people of Niger, and expresses its sympathy to the families of the victims, and wishes a speedy recovery to the injured.

Algeria affirms its solidarity with the Republic of Niger in its war against terrorism and reiterates its call for the strengthening of efforts at the regional and international levels to eradicate this abject scourge which continues to negatively impact peace, security and development in Africa.
